Javier FernándezCo-Founder & CEO
Javier earned a bachelor's degree in Law from ICADE, and later completed a Masters in Legal Consultancy from IE Business School. Before Herzio he spent some time in the Real estate sector,set up Freesbe Creatives focused on online applications, and Ameets.com. Furthermore, in 2007 he earned a Masters in Intellectual Property from Instituto de Postgrado de Comillas. Among his hobbies, he writes tales that no one has ever read and builds his body with titanium prosthesis, in an effort to keep up with Co-Founder David on the ski slopes.
David ZafraCo-Founder & CTO
He is Herzio's other dad, and has some other start-ups on his resume: Co-founder of Ameets and Freesbe, and has even owned his own pizzeria! With a degree in Digital Design by Instituto Europeo di Design and having been heavily involved in the world wide web since he was 15, David has been product advisor for the creations of other companies such as Tuenti.com and Jobandtalent.com. Before Herzio, he was Interactive Designer at McCann Erickson, working with brands such as Coca-Cola and L'Oreal. He loves Apple, Zapiks, and writes a blog on his iPad. David is a nice guy, but don't try to conince him that you can read emails better on your blackberry! He mastered that art a long time ago.
Jaime CastañosaChief Operating Officer
As an Advertising and Public Relations graduate, Jaime has driven all his professional steps towards the world of music. He is another music lover in our ranks, in charge of supplying us the absurd humor we enjoy so much at Herzio.
He had his first contact with hard work at the age of 10, when he used to earn his leaving in a street market supplying soft drinks and useless objects to the bathers of the swimming pools in the area. A real business visionary.
Graduate by InHolland Haarlem, this “Madrilian” lad plays the bass and speaks Chinese fluently. He is a tireless new bands and sounds hunter. When is not in some festival – the more underground the better – he spends his spare time playing rugby, his other passion.
Alberto del RíoContent Manager
Alberto is an Audiovisual Production Senior Technician graduate by the CEV. Alversen (this is how we call him in the office) has worked for “La Fábrica de la Tele”, “Multicanal”, “Telecinco” and channels such as “Decasa”, “Canal Cocina” and “Sol Música”.
Apart from speaking a perfect “Malagueño” (the accent people have in the region of Málaga), he has a wide experience in independent productions where he has developed several projects linked to the creation of music videos.
Together with Luke Le Coq, he is part of Radio Slam, a band that gathers the most up-to-the-minute sounds for dance music. He is a real turntable master and you can see every week his art at Neils Madrid.
In line with Herzio, he is also part of the Production team at Kallimore Films, where he produces video clips, shorts and productions for electronic music artists.
Virginia LópezFinance Director
Ade graduate by the “Universidad Autónoma de Madrid”, Virginia obtained a Master as a Tax Adviser at the “Business Institute”, another one in Economic and Financial Management and a Diploma in Music Enterprise Management by the University of Valencia
After 10 years as a controller in large multinational companies, she gave up working with numbers and decided to develop her true passion: The music.
This Rock’n Roll lover was born in Madrid. She was in charge of the management and booking for a few bands, as well as concerts and festivals production.
Javier GutiérrezFront End Developer
Apart from being an IT Engineer, Javi obtained a Master in Interaction Design, and his body is always covered with bruises. That is because this sport addict dares to do anything, even extreme tricycle.
Before working for Herzio, he was Responsible for projects Implementation at Clever Consulting advertising agency. He can program, design, mock up and he loves traveling when possible. He lived in Prague and Chicago, where apart from getting frozen in winter, he acquired a very wide experience as a product designer.
Borja PrietoPartner & Advisor
Borja opened Myspace in Spain and helped thousands of new artists that now are stars. He brought Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to Spain when nobody knew them, and he is responsible for Eurovision's revival. Lately he was in charge of the online business at Fox International Channels, as well as managing and directing content. He worked as a TV show regular on Spanish channel Cuatro, and he was an activist at multinationals such as Universal, Virgin and EMI where he worked close to the Spanish artists Amaral, Enrique Morente, Lori Meyers, Nena Daconte and Manu Chao. Furthermore, he carried out the marketing campaign for international artists Marilyn Manson, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem and Gwen Stefani. Borja studied at the University of California, Berkeley, and has adiction for mainstream and undergroung culture. He also manages and several personal projects (blog, label…) that make him really happy!!
If you're lucky you might have met him riding through the Amazon on his bicycle, or closing a billion dollar deal on the Strategy and Business Development team at Merrill Lynch. Or maybe you’ve seen him dancing until dawn at the Muddy Glastonbury's Festival? Carlos is currently studying to earn an MBA at NYU, and previously managed Herzio's entire finance and strategic activity for a whole year. Carlos greatly contributes to the company with his financial expertise and extensive knowledge on the topic, and seems to know every band out there – he’s always introducing us to bands that we never knew existed!
